First Day Festival & Our First 3000+ Book Month

Wise Owl House was thrilled to be a part of the City of Charleston’s First Day Festival on Sunday, August 10. With the weather raining buckets that morning, we weren’t expecting much of a crowd. But when the doors opened, the books began to fly! It was all we could do to keep the table topped off as families found old favorites and new adventures. In fact, I only had a chance to take a picture of the empty boxes at the end of the day.

The empty boxes at the end of the First Day Festival. We brought 1400 books and gave away nearly all of them!

We went home will a small cart of just 6 boxes of books, most of which found their way to free libraries within the week. We can’t wait for next year’s festival!
